What are some things to consider?
The design of brackets has evolved over the years and there is the consideration of bracket flex vs frame flex.
What we mean by that is that brackets used to be designed in such a way that the forces of towing were transferred to the vehicle frame, leading to many frame problems.
Modern designs allow the flex to be absorbed in the bracket and not the frame of the vehicle.
Has the vehicle been in an accident?
This could greatly change the accuracy of the installation if anything has been altered on the front end of the vehicle.
Design changes to the vehicle
If you have altered the original design of the front end or maybe you purchased your vehicle mid-year right after a design change that only changed the front fascia of the vehicle. Check the photo of the bracket on your vehicle to make sure it matches your vehicle.
